We’d like for you to meet Alex and his parents – Erin & Kam. We had the privilege of getting to know them a few weeks ago. Of course, Erin & Bekki knew each other back in the day, but for me, they were all new faces. And what a great way to get to know them!

These next couple of pictures don’t tell the whole story. When they got into the tall grass there, they basically got swarmed with mosquitoes, luckily it didn’t seem to phase Alex at all!

Thanks for such a great time! It’s going to be fun to watch Alex grow up!

Ellie!!!

She’s hard to resist isn’t she? This little girl’s eyes are so captivating, and she has a personality to match! Ellie is a sweet, precocious, and very bright little girl. It was so refreshing to stop and explore the city through a little one’s eyes…marveling at the small things, taking in all the sights, giggling and talking all the way.

Favorite picture of the day…love the series of shots too!

I’ll bet the whole city of Portland gets just a bit brighter when Ellie smiles. She knows how to light up a room!

Gavin Turns One

How can you look into those gorgeous baby blues and not fall in love?! We recently had the pleasure of spending the evening with this handsome little man. We ran, explored, jumped, played, and enjoyed the Portland sunshine. Gavin reminded us what it is like to have boundless energy, insatiable curiosity, and a happy-g0-lucky spirit that only a one year old can have. Thank you for a great evening Gavin! (and Gavin’s Mommy and Daddy too!)

This was Gavin’s “wrestler” face. =) I think he could take down just about anyone with his sweetness.

Gavin’s Mommy happens to be one of my cousins, and I just love this shot of the two of them. One of the things I love about our job is getting to watch parents interact with their kids. True love.

And, can I just mention how much I LOVE Portland?!

Kruse Family & Baby Hailey – Family and infant photography vancouver wa

I know I say all the time how much I love my job, but when you get to spend the afternoon with one of your favorite families, and take pictures of their sweet girls…I mean, does it get any better?!

Just look how sweet big sister Callie is with her new little sister Hailey!

I absolutely love this picture of Callie…love, love, love her curls and dimples!

Gorgeous….yes Melanie, you are gorgeous inside and out! And just look where sweet little Callie gets her curls and dimples from!

I’m not sure if there is anything more precious than the love that is between a mother and her new baby. Little Hailey was only a few weeks old at our shoot!

This could possibly be my favorite shot of a newborn to date!

Seriously, how adorable is this little sweetheart?!

This is one special family, and we feel so blessed by their friendship.

I wish these pictures came with sound files…This little girl had all of us laughing so hard! She was dancing, singing, and letting her sunny and spunky personality shine.

Lacey and Vince – Engagement Session – Portland OR Wedding Photographer

We had the privilege of taking engagement pictures for Lacey & Vince a couple of weeks ago. They are an awesome couple, and it has been fun to be a part of their wedding journey. We are excited to shoot their wedding in a couple of weeks. As with all of our families, it has been such an honor to get to know Lacey, Vince, and their daughter as they get ready for their wedding. We also took pictures for Lacey’s sister’s family last summer. Click here to go check out their post.

We feel so lucky to live near Portland, and absolutely love to shoot there. We met Vince and Lacey at the Adrianna Ballroom where they will be having their wedding. The ballroom is only a couple of blocks from Pioneer Courthouse Square and Pioneer Place, so we had a great time utilizing the nearby attractions and capturing Portland’s distinct flavor. Enjoy!

This first series includes some pictures we just love!

I wasn’t sure how these pictures would turn out. I stayed down on the street while Bekki took Lacey & Vince up into the walkway to help pose them.

These are some of the pictures we took in the square. It was a Sunday afternoon & there were quite a few people there. All three of them did an awesome job posing with so many people as their audience.

Of course we had to get one with the “Repent or Else” guy in the frame. I’m not going to say anything…well…let’s just say this guy might need a new approach, that is unless he wants to be nothing more than a funny backdrop for a picture!

And we had to save one of our favorites for the last picture!

Every now and then, we like to take the opportunity to share part of our life with you. Awhile back, we took our kids downtown for the afternoon, stopping to capture a warm afternoon and some sweet smiles.
